For a Karşıyaka resident, “sports” means first and foremost the Karşıyaka Sports Club (KSK/Kaf Sin Kaf). As a sociologist who has written and drawn about this club puts it, “Karşıyaka and KSK are complementary, in the old words, mutemmim bodies of each other.
